OUR HISTORY

The Namibia Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors (NCAQS) was established under the Architects’ and Quantity Surveyors’ Act 13 of 1979 to regulate the practice of architecture and quantity surveying in Namibia. Its creation marked the beginning of a formal, structured system to ensure that only qualified, ethical, and competent professionals serve the public in the built environment.

Over the decades, the Council has continually adapted to the needs of a developing nation—strengthening registration processes, enhancing professional standards, and implementing robust assessment and disciplinary procedures. Supported by members from both private practice and government, NCAQS remains committed to safeguarding public interest and upholding the integrity of these essential professions.
